From 1st January 2024, the chairmanship of the Circumpolar Agricultural Association will be forwarded from Búnaðarstovan, Faroe Islands, to the Norwegian institution NIBIO [www.nibio.no] in Tromsø, Norway, where Head of Department, Dr. Inger Martinussen, will take over the responsibility as President of the organisation. This implies among others that the upcoming 12th Circumpolar Agricultural Conference will be held in Tromsø, Norway, preferably in 2025.

My sincere thanks to all of you who contributed to make the  11th Circumpolar Agricultural Conference a success. Similarly, my gratitude also goes to the Nordic Council of Ministers for their financial support to the conference.

I will take the opportunity to wish Inger Martinussen good luck with the important tasks to both enhance the activity range of the Circumpolar Agricultural Association as well as to improve the attention among relevant stakeholders and the public about the important issues related to agriculture, food production and livelihood in the High North.

Since Christmas is only a month ahead from now, I also take this opportunity to wish the board, friends and followers of the Circumpolar Agricultural Association a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best regards Tróndur G. Leivsson
